Common questions and answers

In New South Wales, you can apply for a learner’s licence as soon as you turn 16. You must pass the Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) before you can receive your learner’s licence and start your driving lessons.

The number of lessons needed varies from person to person, depending on their previous experience and comfort level. However, it’s important to note that in NSW, learner drivers under the age of 25 must complete at least 120 hours of supervised driving, including 20 hours of night driving, before they can take the driving test.
Yes, we do. P-School offers lessons for both manual and automatic vehicles. However, please note that manual lessons are conducted in the comfort of your own car.
If you have a valid overseas licence, you may not need to take lessons. However, to convert your overseas licence to a NSW driver licence, you’ll need to pass the driving test. Our Overseas License Transfer service is designed to help you familiarise yourself with local road rules, conditions, and driving culture.
